Updates on our Brothers Abroad

This great fraternity teaches us that by the exercise of brotherly love, Masonry unites men of every country, sect and opinion, and allows true friendship to exist among those who might have otherwise remained at a perpetual distance. Although many of our brothers are in distant places, we would like to keep them close to our hearts. This section of the webpage is dedicated to reuniting us with the brothers of Honolulu Lodge who aren't able to be with us on a regular basis in Hawaii. We will try and get as many updates from brethren abroad as we can.

Hugo Reyes

The first brother we will be spotlighting is Brother Hugo Reyes. Brother Hugo was raised at Honolulu Lodge on March 2007. During his time in Hawaii he worked at the Four Seasons Hualalai while attending the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He left the islands to return home in November 2007. In August 2009 he enrolled in Graduate School and is also currently working at the most luxurious hotel in Spain, the Gran Hotel Bahia del Duque Resort, where is the housekeeping manager. Brother Hugo says that the things he misses most about lodge are "the rituals themselves, and meeting up for dinner with all the brothers. I thought that was amazing and fun." He does plan on visiting Hawaii as soon as his economic and professional situations allow him to.

Brother Hugo would like all the brethren to know that "even though some of us are far far away, and most do not have the time to constantly communicate with the brothers, we do still miss them and love them the same as if we were there personally. I hope that through this new online initiative, we are able to revive our interactions. Who knows, maybe even attend lodge cybernetically through webcam. Someday, freemasonry may even adapt to social networking."

Brother Hugo would also like to say that Hawaii and the lodge will always be in his heart.
