Lodge Burns Supper 2020
On Friday 7th February 2020 the Lodge held its Annual Burns Supper.
On this occasion Ian Crozier had assembled another top table of excellence.
It consisted of Ian Crozier himself as Chair, and Recitals, Colin Chalmers - Master of the Lodge, John Merrilees -Immortal Memory of Robert Burns and Recitals, Grant Williamson - Toast to the Lassies and recitals, Simon Crozier - Toast to the Haggis and recitals, Chiggy MacDonald - Artiste, Kirsty Heggie - Singer, John Findlay and Darren O'Hare - Pipers.
The evening started with the traditional Toast tae the Haggis piped in by John MacDonald and the toast was done by Simon Crozier. There then followed fine fare.
John Merrilees gave an excellent Immortal Memory, with a theme this year of the Bard in America at the conclusion of which Darren O'Hare played a meaningful lament. John Merrilees and Ian Crozier done their usual Twa Dugs, and joined by Grant Williamson, all three gave an excellent rendition of Tam O'Shanter. Grant also gave a very amusing toast to the Lassies. All four speakers gave various other recitals during the evening. The musical entertainment was provided by Chiggy MacDonald and Kirsty Heggie
A very enjoyable evening was had by all present closing with The Star of Rabbie Burns and Auld Lang Syne.
