Now that summer is behind us and the cooler crisper days of Autumn lie ahead, we hope that you have had a chance to energize and are ready for another Chapter year. Our Worthy Matron is new to the line this year and will need all the help that only her chapter can provide. We ask that you try to support her as much as you can so that this year will be a successful one for her and for our chapter.
To find out more about some of the activities that are coming up for the Chapter, Region 15B, and the state in general, check out the Region 15B Events page.
Keep checking this page for notes and stories on what Pennsylvania OES is up to. If you have any ideas for this page, let us know so that we can include them in the page updates. A link to my email is at the bottom of this page. Enjoy!
For some time now we had been advised by Grand Chapter that due to membership changes, they would be looking to redistribute the Districts and to that effect they appointed a Committee to oversee the study. The results came in and a decision was made to convert the Districts into Regions. This change would not take effect until the Grand Session of 2007. As of Grand Session - June 2007, the Districts of Pennsylvania have been renamed as Regions. Each Region is comprised of sub-regions identified by a number and a letter. So for example, what used to be District 27 (Signet's Former District) has now become Region 15B. Additionally, When a sub-region falls to less than four chapters, the sub-region will be "absorbed" by the Region. All Sub-Regions are comprised of the same chapters that were in a former District. The Deputies for the the Worthy Grand Matron will now be known as "Deputy Grand Matrons" instead of "District Deputy Grand Matrons" (as they were previously known).
Each sub-region will have a Deputy Grand Matron, and the Deputy Grand Matrons of each sub-region will work together for a combined Regional Meeting. The summer School of Instruction formerly held by each District Deputy Grand Matron in their respective District will now be conducted for the entire Region by Past Grand Matrons and Past Grand Patrons serving as "Regional Advisors" in conjunction with the Deputy Grand Matrons. For more information on these changes, consult the website for the Grand Chapter of Pennsylvania.
