Who Are We?
Many people have opinions or ideas about freemasonry. We are thought by some to be secretive. Others believe we are conspiritors. There are even those who believe we are a cult. In truth, masons are just like you. Our members are upstanding citizens of the community. We range in from over 80 years of age to under 30. We are ministers, we are factory workers, we are business owners. What unites us is our desire to better ourselves. By doing that we are better able to contribute to our community. We belong to something greater than our local lodge.
Freemasonry dates back many centuries, across all continents. We believe in a Supreme Architect of the Universe, but endorse no specific religion or denomination. Nor do we directly support any political affiliations. Instead, we meet together ignoring our differences and in the spirit of cooeration. Ancient freemasons learned to work with their hands to form stone into beautiful art and useful objects. They taught these skills to their contemporaries thus forming fraternity for the purpose of bettering their craft. As times have changed, so has freemasonry. Now days we focus on learning and educating ourselves to better provide for our families and serve the community as useful and productive citizens.
