History

The meeting at which the Lodge was constituted was at the Fox , Castle Street Southwark on 31st October 1785. The minutes of the meeting show it was originally intended to call the Lodge "Union Lodge" as this name has been struck through and the "Lodge of Unions" inserted in its place. The lodge was numbered 480 from its constitution until 1792. There is a list of recorded meeting places at the foot of the page

The Lodge then became number 390 from 1792 to 1814. It was again re-numbered and became number 481 from 1814 to 1832

It became sponsoring Lodge of The Emulation Lodge of Improvement in 1830 and has remained so ever since

The Lodge became number 318 in 1832 and was re-numbered again to its present number in 1863

The Lodge received a Centenary Warrant on 31st October 1885
