What is the International Order
of Job's Daughters?
"And in all the land were no women found so fair as the Daughters of Job; and their Father gave them inheritance among their brethren."
In 1920, Ethel T Wead Mick founded the International Order of Job's Daughters based on this verse and the teachings of Freemasonry to provide an opportunity for young women to work together, to learn about themselves and to help others. Today, Job's Daughters is a premier organization for girls who:
- like making new and lasting friends
- enjoy doing fun activities
- want to help other people
- learn valuable skills, such as leadership,
self-confidence, and communication
The International Order of Job's Daughters is one of today's outstanding character-building organizations for young women who are related to a Master Mason. We can help you determine if there is a Master Mason in your family- you would be surprised how many families have Master Masons in their history and do not know it.
Job's Daughters teaches the time-tested principles of respect for parents and home, loyalty to flag and country, and reverence for God. We do not follow any specific religion, but do require that our members have a belief in God.
Job's Daughters plan and share a lot of fun activities. Every year Bethel 22 holds a statewide Halloween party, with a dance and haunted house- and it continues to grow. We attend dances and activities around the state and do lots of other fun activities, such as our annual beach trip fundraiser. Yep, you heard right- we actually raise money by going to the beach each year. We do a short hike at Virginia Beach to raise money for HIKE (Hearing Impaired Kids Endowment), a charity that buys hearing aids for kids whose families can't afford them. Later that evening, there is a dance at a local Bethel.
