Hello everyone!

RECENT EVENTS . . . . .

On Saturday, September 7 members of the Bethel and Guardian Council got together and Mom Groner's house to make crafts for the Burke Centre Festival. We made a myriad of soaps, sachets, buttons . . . the list goes on and on. We should have plenty to sell this weekend!

Then, on Sunday, we had our regular meeting at the Temple. We installed Mom Lanham as the Promoter of Sociability and Mom Heim as the Custodian of Paraphernalia.

ON TAP FOR THIS WEEK . . . . .

On Wednesday, September 11 Bethel 1 will be singing at the Iwo Jima Memorial in D.C. We will meet at the Temple to car pool to a school in Arlington and catch a shuttle to the memorial. Bethel 1 will be singing in the Metropolitan Chorus beginning at 7 p.m. During the show they will sing their signature song, "Arlington." The show should be over by 8 p.m., at which time we will leave the memorial to head back to the school. If you wish to go, call Mom Melanie immediately - as plans to meeting have changed since our Bethel meeting.

Saturday and Sunday - - the Burke Centre Festival. At last night's meeting you all were to sign up for shifts to work. The shift 1-6 on Sunday is empty - we must have at least 2 daughters working at this time. There were a few daughters that did not sign up at all - - expect to sign up with your Line Officer this week. Also, don't forget to bake!!!

The Burke Centre Festival is held at the Burke Conservancy, located at 6060 Burke Centre Parkway. Shift times are: 8-1 and 1-6 on both days. Please be on time for your shift. If you are working one of the afternoon shifts, there will be shuttles to and from the festival from the following locations on Burke Centre Parkway:

2 Burke Centre Shopping Center
3 Near entrance to Landings Community Center/Pool

If you are planning on driving and parking on festival grounds, contact me immediately for a pass. I only have 2 passes provided to me by the festival committee - - so, first come, first serve.
