	Back to Guardian's Corner September 16, 2002 Hello everyone!!! RECENT EVENTS . . . . . On Wednesday, September 11 a few of the members of 22 and their Guardian Council attended the "9-11 Arlington Remembers" Concert, near the Iwo Jima Memorial. Bethel 1 sang at this concert - a song written specifically for Arlington, called "Arlington." They did a wonderful job and represented Job's Daughters VERY well. The concert was aired live on a local Arlington TV station. This past weekend almost all of our members took part in the Burke Centre Festival. We had a booth with arts and crafts, as well as baked goods. While we were there we were visited by a PHQ of 22, Laura Brown and her mom, Barbara Brown, as past Guardian Secretary from our Bethel. Mom Alicia Szramoski also came by to support the Bethel, bringing her children Alex and Haley (a Jobie-to-be in about 10 years!) with her. Thank you to the daughters and adults who helped out this weekend - - your help was greatly appreciated. Your hard work paid off!! ON TAP FOR THIS WEEK . . . . . On Saturday, September 21 at 1 p.m., Bethels 21 and 52 will have their Grand Visitation in Manassas. Please sign up with your line officer this week if you can attend. This would be a WONDERFUL opportunity to travel and see members from other Bethels. Information about where to meet will be given out later this week, once it has been determined how many will be going. Chaperones/Drivers are needed. On Saturday, September 21 at 8 p.m. is the fall HQMCWA Ball at the Kena Temple, in Fairfax. Please arrive at Kena by 8 p.m. The dance will be over at midnight, and all girls should be picked up from Kena at that time. Sign up with your line officer this week. Chaperones are needed for this event. On Sunday, September 22 the Bethel will have its regular meeting. Please arrive by 5:15 p.m. in a skirt/dress. JEANS/SHORTS ARE NOT PERMITTED. The Honored Queen will call those that are responsible for bringing refreshments. Remember, if you cannot attend a meeting you MUST call/email the Bethel Guardian, in advance, in order for your absence to be excused. COMING SOON . . . . . . Attention all Council Members and Line Officers: Mark you calendars for Monday, September 23 at 7 p.m. for the first council meeting of the new term. The meeting will be held at the Groner's house. If you cannot attend the meeting, please let me know ASAP. Tuesday, September 24 - visit Bethel 52 Saturday, September 28 - 9 a.m.: School of Instruction at Bethel 1's. Lunch to follow. Trip to the National Zoo - immediately following lunch 5 p.m.: Northern Neck DeMolay Installation, King George VA ?p.m.: Prince William Installation Sunday, September 29 - Bethel 1 GV at 3 p.m. in Arlington SUNSHINE . . . . . Happy Birthday to Mom Linda Abbott! She celebrates a birthday on September 24. Happy Birthday to Mom Emily Groner! Her joyous day is September 25. T-SHIRT CONTEST . . . . . Just a reminder that a t-shirt design contest is going on! Your designs are due by October 6. Please turn in your designs/ideas to Mom Melanie either prior to the 6th, or on that day. MUSIC MANIA . . . . Don't forget Mom Mona's campaign to get you all more involved in music outside of Job's Daughters. If you go to a concert, production, etc. be sure to bring her your ticket stub, or a program. Remember, the person with most music mania points, wins a special musical prize!
