Eastern Star Chapter. After Brother Bokavok became ill and was confined to
a hospital, Mrs. Bokavok, who did not drive, called upon the Worshipful
Master for transportation assistance to visit her husband every day.
After Brother Bokavok's death, the Worshipful Master made further
arrangements to have Mrs. Bokavok taken to the grocery store every week. When she passed away in 1967, Mrs. Bokavok left a stock portfolio (now estimated to be worth over $2 million) to Kensington Eastern Star #39, and her home to Kensington Lodge #198 which they sold to pay off the Lodge mortgage and provide operating funds. Shortly prior to her death, she also purchased a Hammond organ for the Lodge. In 1997, Kensington Lodge #198 after having the organ in storage for a long period of time, gave it to Grand Strand Lodge #392. Our Lodge had no need for an organ so Bill McGrath arranged for the Loris Lodge to borrow it for their |
