5th Northeastern District News - 20 Dec 2009
Brethren:
Over 2 months have passed since we attended our Grand Lodge. I have had the opportunity to visit each of your lodges unofficially and we have had 1 breakfast meeting.
I feel that what has been accomplished so far has been productive. Every lodge has been getting petitions for membership and I have been pleased to refer some potential
members to most of your lodges. That was in the past.
Lets look to the future....
January 17th will be our next District meeting. I have arranged for a guest speaker to be there to bring a message that should be of interest to everyone attending.
Lets try to get more of your officers and interested members to attend. Don't forget to let me now how many to expect from your lodge no later than January 12th. We should
have a date for the Picnic and also a date for the Blood Drive.
January 29th will be a Lodge Officer School #3 at our Temple. Our District has been charged with the responsibility of providing the slate for the Second Section of the
Third Degree. I am asking each lodge to supply at least 4 of your members, who will be there , to take part on the slate. Please have your list of the members that will be
participating, and what part that they can do, to me no later than the District Breakfast.
Between January 12th and March 1st I will be making my Official Visit to each of your lodges. I have sent a letter to your Secretary outlining the criteria for the evening.
If you have any questions please contact me.
Lack of communication is the major downfall of many businesses and I feel that we can not communicate enough to make our lodges stronger.
To that end I have decided to move forward with the district web site on an experimental basis. I can send information to you as senior officers of your lodge but I feel that
there is information that would be of interest to all of your members. At our last district meeting there was some comment that it would be unnecessary. I ask you to keep
an open mind and let your member know about this tool. Jim McDermott has put a lot of effort into designing the site and I think that we should give it a fair trial run.
The access to the web page is www.mastermason.com/5thnedistrict .
I want to wish you and your families a wonderful remainder of the holiday season and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
