Trestleboard for February 1999
Hope this finds all doing well. The January stated meeting focused on the 1998-99 Grand Master's Award of Excellence. The iniatives which Wilmette Lodge will pursue were discussed and chosen. I will be sending out an outline of those iniatives to the brethren. I will also arrange another sign-up sheet for some of the group outing iniatives. Please sign-up or contact me if you are interested.
January saw the lodge put on a second degree for our eager Fellowcraft. The exam was conducted in the lodge and the candidate recited the catechism flawlessly. It was a pleasure to see such a well-prepared candidate. Bro. Peter Lundberg obligated. Thank you Bro. Lundberg.
Our candidate will be making a presentation at our February stated meeting. While at refreshment, he will show the work he has completed on a Wilmette Park Lodge website. He will also be presenting some basic information on the internet. Please attend if e-mail, the web...etc. are intimidating or foreign to you.
The DDGM will be making his visit during our March stated meeting. As has been the case the past few years, his visit will coincide with the judging for the annual ritual competition. Accordingly, we will be having some ritual instruction on February 18 & 25. This will push our candidate's Third Degree back to March 18th. Please mark your calendar.
Finally, we will be having a Valentine Dinner on February 13th. The Four Spacious Men, a barbershop quartet, will be performing.
