Waller #1047 Eastern Star History

The Waller Chapter Of The Order Of The Eastern Star #1047 was instituted on June 21, 1958 and received it's charter on December 4, 1958

The beautiful old handmade furniture inside of Waller Lodge hall was Donated by Holland Lodge #1 to the Waller Lodge in 1911 after half of the town of Waller burned in a disastrous fire. Of course the lodge building was included in the half that burned. Everything inside the building was lost.

The Eastern Star co-sponsored the Rainbow Girls with the Hempstead chapter, given to needy families at Thanksgiving and Christmas, made and gave decoration to 2 Waller and 1 Hempstead nursing homes. They also helped with the Volunteer Fire Department, blood drives, the Eastern Star Home and nursing homes in the area.

The Eastern Star helped carpet the lodge room and paid to have the furniture reupholstered and refinished. They also bought tables and chairs for the dinning room, Bought ceiling fans for the Lodge room and paid half the cost of a new air-conditioning system.
