If you are a mason visiting Newcastle upon Tyne and wish to join us at a meeting
We meet on the 4th Friday of each month except July, August and December. Our meetings usually start at 7pm. Introduce yourself and you will be certain to be made welcome. We meet in Fern Avenue Masonic Hall (off Osborne Rd, turn down at the Jesmond Hotel) which is close to both Jesmond and West Jesmond Metro stations. Follow the signs to the "Antiques' Village" and we are above the shops.
Our night of Installation is November. However at our installation you would need to book ahead to be certain of a place at the festive board. Contact us first if you wish to know more.
On the other hand, are you a non-mason and wish to know more, perhaps with a view to becoming a member?
Freemasonry under the United Grand Lodge of England is the UK's largest, secular fraternal and charitable organisation. It has over 300,000 members working in nearly 8,000 lodges throughout England and Wales and 30,000 more members overseas. There are also other Grand Lodges which represent Freemasonry in most countries throughout the world.
Freemasonry takes its membership from men in all walks of life. The majority are just ordinary, decent men who might be a colleague, friend or neighbour.
Grand Lodge have produced a pair of booklets which address most of the issues those interested in Freemasonry are likely to raise. To obtain a copy just write to the address given below.
For further information and general details of how to become a Freemason, please write to:

What I would like to say in addition to what you will learn from the above site, is that Freemasonry does provide the opportunity to try out many skills that perhaps are not taught or that you, as an individual, have not had the chance to experience elsewhere e.g. you may well have to

Above all Freemasonry is fun. Most lodges have a social programme far wider than just the lodge meetings themselves. Through masonry I have met people from many countries and I have become firm friends with quite a few.
If you wish to know more then I can do no better than to direct you to the site of the
If they can't explain what Freemasonry is all about then we may as well all go home now.
Please do visit the UGLE site above. Please do visit other sites from my links page; many do have "What is Freemasonry" sections. If you have any questions then click on the envelope and I will try my best to give you an answer.
Should you wish to join, then contact us and we will take it from there.
