On Saturday, October 13th, 2007, a special
fundraising event was held to support the
efforts of SUPPORTING HEROES. Public safety
agencies from across Indiana and Kentucky
held “boot drives” (or “roadblocks”) and
other events to raise money to support the
families of fallen public safety heroes.
The goals of this event were:
-
Raise badly needed funds to support the
families of Indiana’s and Kentucky’s
fallen public safety heroes
-
Increase awareness of the service and
sacrifice of public safety personnel
-
Increase awareness of the importance of
supporting families of the fallen
|
Robinson Lodge #266 in conjunction with
Highland Park #865, Boaz Lodge #850 and St.
Matthews Fire Department sponsored a Road Block
to help raise badly needed funds for the
Supporting Heroes Organization.
We sat up at Taylorsville Road and
Hurstbourne Lane at 10am on Saturday,
October 13, 2007. We were blessed with
wonderful weather, and the event was a
fantastic success, and it was a true delight
to have taken part in such a wonderful
program that raised money to help the
families of those who have made the ultimate
sacrifice. |
|
We would like to thank the following
agencies for their help and participation: |
|
-
St. Matthews Fire District for providing
the boots to collect with.
-
Okolona Fire District for providing the
traffic vests.
-
Mall St. Matthews Security (Brother
Master Masons) for providing the traffic
cones.
