LeRoy Edward "Roy" Keith, 91, passed away on
Tuesday, June 29, 2010 in El Cajon, CA.
Raised in Laconia, IN, LeRoy was a U.S. Army
veteran of World War II, a member of
Graceland Baptist Church in New Albany and a
life member of the Robinson Masonic Lodge
#266 in Louisville. He had worked as a heavy
equipment operator with the Operators #181
Engineers' Union.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys S. (Buse)
Keith; and daughters, Carolyn Zimmerman
(Robert), Joyce Hoke (Robert), Maxine
Schweitzer (Jim) and Irene Keith.
Visitation is 10 am.-1 p.m. Thursday, July
8, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southern
Indiana Chapel (formerly Generations F. H.)
at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN.
Funeral service is 1 p.m. on Thursday at the
funeral home. Burial is in Abundant Life
Cemetery in New Albany.

LeRoy Edward Keith, 91, formerly of
Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on
Tuesday, June 29, 2010 in El Cajon,
California. Raised in Laconia, Indiana,
LeRoy was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII; a
member of Graceland Baptist Church in New
Albany, Indiana; and a life member of the
Robinson Masonic Lodge #266 in Louisville,
Kentucky. He had worked as a heavy equipment
operator with the Operators #181 Engineers’
Union.
LeRoy was born on March 6, 1919, in
Jeffersontown, Kentucky to the late Moman D.
and Clementine (Johnson) Keith.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years,
Gladys S. (Buse) Keith; daughters, Carolyn
Zimmerman and her husband, Robert, of
Laconia, Indiana, Joyce Hoke and her
husband, Robert, of San Diego, California,
Maxine Schweitzer and her husband, Jim, of
Charlestown, Indiana, and Irene Keith of
Columbus, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and 11
great grandchildren; three great great
grandchildren.
The visitation will be 10 AM to 1 PM
Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral
Home – Southern Indiana Chapel (formerly
Generations Funeral Home at 3309 Ballard
Lane, New Albany, Indiana). His Funeral
Service will be at 1 PM on Thursday, July 8,
2010 at the funeral home. Burial will follow
at Abundant Life Cemetery in New Albany.
