Newly Elected Mayor

The Penllergaer Lodge is proud to announce that one of our very own has been elected Mayor of Gorseinon. That person is, as you are well aware, W. Brother Elwyn DAVIES, seen below in his finest - seems to wear regalia of some description all the time!

W. Bro. Elwyn is married to Sandra, and has recently celebrated 45 years of wedded bliss - well that's what he says, but I'm sure Sandra will say something different! He worked as a mechanical engineer in the Coal Industry for 35 years before taking early retirement in 1987. He is a fellow of the Institute of Mining Electrical and Mining Mechanical Engineers, and is a Past President of that Institute.

In 1993 he graduated from Swansea University with an Honours Degree in Economic and Social History, and has worked on a voluntary basis for the past 5 years as an Advisor with the Citizens Advice Bureau.

Masonically, W. Bro. Elwyn is extremely active, being a Past Master and current Secretary of the Penllergaer Craft Lodge. He was appointed P.Pr.J.G.D. in 2003.

In other Orders, he holds the following Offices: - He is the I.P.Z. of Talbot Chapter, P.M. of the Talbot Mark Lodge and P.C. of the Talbot R.A.M. (He also holds Provincial Rank in both of these, and is also Treasurer of both). He is also S.W. of Gower Council Allied Masonic Degrees.

Given everything, it is no wonder W. Brop. Elwyn has gone grey, but in his favour he does still have his own teeth.
