Saturday, February 13, 2010 - Sweetheart Dance

Districts 20, 21, and 22 are working together to put on a Charities Sweetheart Dance, to benefit the Heart Fund, Saturday, February 13, 2010, at Lebanon Chapter, from 7:30 to 10:30 pm. Entertainment and dance music will be provided by "The Rejects" (of 2005 Grand Chapter fame) – they entertain as well as play great dance music. $12 per person buys you music, dancing, snacks, drinks, and prizes! We will also vote for a Sweetheart King and Queen. Dress is casual, and tickets may be purchased from Sue Booth or Gary Nordmoe. Family and friends of course are invited.

Lebanon Chapter is at 30 S. Broadway, in Lebanon, across from the Golden Lamb. The dance will be held in the Social Room on the 2nd floor. There are stairs and a chair lift at the front of the building, and an elevator at the back entrance; there is also a parking lot in back.

Please join us for an evening of fun... and fundraising to support our Charities!

***Update***

The Sweetheart dance was a hit! Between 130 and 140 Sweethearts danced the night away to the music of "The Rejects". Dancing, laughing, snacking, and enjoying being with friends made the evening a big success. We voted for King and Queen by making donations, and crowned were

The evening's festivities raised more than $1,600. This was thanks to the hard work of Heart Committee Members Sue Booth (20), Nancy Ledford (21), and Sandy Vice (22), aided by members of Lebanon Chapter, District 21 Charities Director Helen Walton, and all their other helpers - but especially by all the Sisters and Brothers, family and friends, who made the Sweetheart Dance a wonderful time.

Come see some of Cincinnati's Greatest Magicians: Donovan, Professor Pryor and Jason the Great who will be performing tricks such as the floating ball, the dove act, broom suspension, sawing a girl in half, and much, much more - for only $10 per person for the lower level, and $5 per person for balcony seats.

All proceeds benefit the Cincinnati and Norwood 32nd Degree Masonic Learning Centers. This event is open to the public. Saturday, June 5 - Statewide Charities Extravaganza

The 2010 Charities Extravaganza will be Saturday, June 5, at the Villa Milano, 1630 Schrock Road, Columbus. This year's theme is "The Wizard of Oz," so please join us for dinner, entertainment, and an auction to benefit our Charities.

Dinner will be served at 6:00 pm. It will be $22, your choice of Chicken Milano or Roasted Pork Chop, with salad, Italian vegetable, red skin potatoes, rolls, strawberry shortcake, and beverage. Please make your reservation by May 24. Click here for a ticket order form.

After dinner you'll be entertained by Members from all over the State, as they sing, dance, and - well, can't spoil the surprise, can we? You will be able to vote for your favorite act by placing a donation in the centerpiece at your table, with the money split amongst all the Charities.

Finally, there will be an auction, with items provided by each District... and this is where I need your help. The Worthy Grand Matron would like handmade items such as jewelry, knitted items, artwork, woodworking, crocheted items, etc. I would like District 20's items to have a "picnic" theme - think of anything you might see at a picnic. So far, I have a quilt or two promised - other items could include a picnic basket, blanket, homemade wine, decorated glassware, cloth napkins, napkin rings, cookies, jams, bread (and anything edible that wouldn't spoil), toys and games, pillows, fun things you might wear - well, that's just a few things I came up with off the top of my head; I know District 20 has plenty of creative people who can think of many more things. And remember, there can be all different types of picnic, so unleash your imaginations. If you can provide something, or can suggest anyone who could, please contact me, or one of the Chapter Representatives listed above.

Thank you, and hope to see you there!.

Monday, June 14 - Stir-fry at bd's Mongolian Grill

Please join us Monday, June 14th for "Guest Griller" night at bd's Mongolian Grill, 8655 Mason Montgomery Road, Mason, OH 45040.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME - Bring family, friends, neighbors, etc. From 6:00 - 9:00 pm, 10% of all proceeds throughout the entire restaurant will go to ESTARL and our Mt. Vernon Home!

What's a Mongolian Grill, anyway? Fill your bowl with meat or seafood, fresh vegetables, sauces and spices. Hand your creation to the grillers, to stir-fry on the giant flat grill. Eat, and repeat! On "Guest Griller" night, some of our OES friends will be grilling! We will have tip jars handy, to reward these special grillers - and ALL that money will go to these Charities!

For copies of the flyer, to post or hand out, please click here.

RSVP to Cheryl Bartholomew at 513-312-4445 or cbartholomew@zoomtown.com by June 1. If you don't RSVP, don't let that stop you from coming - we just want to provide a count to the restaurant, so they have enough staff that night; just be sure to tell the staff that you are with the Eastern Star group, so you get counted.
