There are however, some Appendant organizations such as the Scottish Rite, the York Rite, the Shrine and the Eastern Star which offer more "degrees" that a Master Mason may receive. These "Degrees" only enhance the understanding of the first three degrees and offer additional teachings in the historical roots of Freemasonry.
