Brothers,
Fall is upon us and our Masonic work is
just around the corner. I hope the investigating committees have
contacted the three petitioners and a full report will be given at the next
Stated meeting on October 31, 2002 at 5:30 pm on the third floor on
Freemason's Hall. This is very important to keep the interest up within our
petitioners.
Our
agenda for the Stated Meeting on October 31, 2002 will include voting on
the petitions and regular lodge business. The Junior Warden
will be in charge of a Masonic Education Program. If any member wishes to serve in
an officers position, please contact a Warden or myself. Elections of
Century Lodge officers will be on November 21, 2002.
On October 24, 2002, Century
Lodge will have a honors dinner at the Columbia Club, on the circle, for
Most Worshipful Brother Roger Scott VanGorden, Grand Master of Masons of
Indiana. Everyone should have received my personal invitation to
this event. You and your lady are welcome. Century Lodge will pick
up the cost of the dinner for any "Century member"
attending. We will be on the newly remodeled 10th floor. The time for
this event is 6:00 pm social and 6:30 pm Dinner.
Please remember to bring your can
goods for the Stated Meeting on October 31st. This is one of our
community projects for 2002.
On November 7, 2002, Grand Lodge
will have the yearly "Instructional" for Century Lodge. We
will open and close on the Fellowcraft degree. Confer the Fellow Craft Degree,
without the middle chamber lecture. Our books will also be inspected at
this time. A 5:30 pm Dinner is scheduled on the 2nd floor, with the
Instructional on the 3rd floor of Freemason's Hall. All elected and
appointed officers are expected to attend and know their part in the opening
and closing of the Fellowcraft Degree. A cast will be assembled for the
Fellowcraft degree.
It is that time of year again for
our annual dues. Dues notices will be out shortly. Our dues this
year for 2003 are $216.50. They are dues December 31, 2002. Please
see our Brother Secretary Ron Simpson if you have any questions.
Grand Lodge also has a program
for Indiana State Masonic Auto License plates for the rear of your auto. The
cost is $10.00 to Grand Lodge and $6.00 of that comes back to your
Century Lodge. Also another $10.00 to the State of Indiana for the
plate it's self. See Ron Simpson for the form and procedure to obtain
the plate.
Mentoring program. If you
sign a petition, you should help your new brother gain Masonic Light.
Work with him to understand the small booklet and monitor given him during his
degrees. Invite him to visit and participate in the lodge functions.
Be his brother. Allow him to see your knowledge and friendship of what Mason
life can be to him. If you have questions, please contact your Master or
Past Masters.
