RECENT EVENTS.......
Much to our dismay, the bake sale on Saturday had to be cancelled due to the
rainy weather! I am pleased to report that, even with the rain, many
Christmas trees were sold! We did have the bake sale on Sunday - from 9
a.m. until 9 p.m. We fed many of hungry workers - plus a few hungry workers
too! Thanks to everyone who brought baked goodies - they were delicious!
Saturday evening, a few of our girls met at the Scottish Rite and attended
the mystery trip. First they went to dinner (Fuddruckers, I believe!) and
then headed off to.......well, that shall remain a mystery until our meeting
on Sunday, for those that didn't attend! I was told a good time was had by
all. After the trip everyone went back to the Hampton's house for a slumber
party. According to Dad Hampton, they were all quiet and sound asleep by 2
a.m.!
The semi-annual Go To Church With the Honored Queen was held on Sunday.
Those who attended the slumber party got up early to go the First Baptist
Church in Alexandria. This is always a special outing for the Honored Queen
and her family - I know everyone had a good time!
ON THE CALENDAR........
This Saturday, December 15, is John Blair Lodge Installation. It will be
held at the Scottish Rite Temple at 6 p.m. Dad Rob Mertz will be installed
as the Worshipful Master and our very own Dad James will be installed as
Marshal. Please come out to support this lodge, which means so much to our
Bethel. The attire is FORMAL! Formal attire means all ladies present must
be floor-length dresses with the appropriate shoes. Please meet at the
Scottish Rite Temple by 5:30 - as there is a large crowd expected.
On Sunday, December 16 is our meeting. Mom Ann Bailey has called a
mandatory rehearsal to work on ritual. PLEASE ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 4 PM, so
that rehearsal may begin promptly. That night, during our meeting, Mom Ann
will be judging your ritual for the Spirit Award. Please be sure that you
have the proper regalia, you sing nice and loud - you speak nice and loud
AND that you know your parts letter perfect!
QUOTE OF THE WEEK.......
"Let it be our purpose so to live, that the members of our Order will be
known throughout the land as true daughters of Job."
Have a wonderful week!
