Back to Guardian's Corner

November 5, 2001

I hope this installment of the Bethel Guardian's Corner finds you all well. Ladies, I hope you are enjoying your Teacher Workdays (I know I am!)

RECENT EVENTS . . . . . . .

For those that couldn't attend, you missed a fun sleepover/makeover this weekend. Congratulations to our Silly Pajamas Contest Winners - Jenna Hampton and Kori Thompson! Special thanks to the Groners for hosting the party - and to Mom Goff, Mom Mona and Erin for coming back at 7 a.m. the next morning to "kidnap" the girls and take them to IHOP. For those of you that missed our sleepy-eyed Jobies, pictures will be on the website soon!

At last night's Bethel meeting, we honored Bethel Guardians and Associate Bethel Guardians, past and present. Thank you to those who came out and showed your support for the Bethel. You are welcome to come back at any time! :o) Prior to the meeting, we had a potluck dinner. Thank you to those who supplied us with food - it was delicious!

THIS WEEK'S EVENTS. . . . . . .

On Wednesday, November 7 we will be having our monthly council meeting at 7:30 in the home of Karen Hampton. There is not much on the agenda, so we can get through everything quickly and call it an early night! Line Officers are required to attend.

On November 10, there is a GV in Virginia Beach. It will be at the Lynnhaven Masonic Temple in Virginia Beach (I promise, we know how to get there!) at 1 p.m. We will meet at the CVS Parking Lot on Old Keene Mill Road (where we met for HIKE) at 7:30 a.m. Don't forget to bring clothes for two GVs, as well as a dance. (AND, don't forget your homework!) We will be returning on Sunday, November 11 by 8 p.m. Please have your parents pick you up at our Temple. Your line officer will call you this week to find out whether or not you can go. Please have a definite answer.

AT A GLANCE. . . . . . . . UPCOMING EVENTS. . . . . . .

November 17 - Help the Homeless Walkathon, Washington DC 9:00 a.m.
November 18 - Flag Dedication by the DeMolay, 3:00 p.m. (North Room, GWMNM)
6:00 p.m. Regular Meeting (Proficiency Test and honoring Masons and Eastern Star)

SUNSHINE. . . . . .

Unbeknownst to the Bethel, Dad Groner celebrated his birthday this past Friday night. Yes, that's right - he hosted the slumber party on his birthday and didn't tell a soul! Happy Belated Birthday, Dad Groner!

On November 13, Kori Thompson is having a birthday - drop her an email or give her a call to wish her a happy birthday.

SPIRIT AWARD UPDATE. . . . . . .

We are right on track with the Supreme Spirit Award. We have 355 points, as of last night. Good job ladies!

QUOTE OF THE WEEK. . . . . . . .

"All the magic of youth, and the joy of life are ours - and our eyes are filled with wondering interest in the world's affairs."

Have a wonderful week!

Jobie love,
~*~Mom Melanie~*~
