January 29, 2002
Hello everyone! Can you believe January is almost over, already?! And
guess what? The Super Bowl is upon us! Have you picked your team yet?
RECENT EVENTS......
This past Wednesday, Katie Kapoor, Mom Melanie and Dad James went out to
Collingwood to serve the Heroes' Dinner. We were mainly responsible for
serving and cleaning up. The Heroes certainly enjoyed their spaghetti! The
next dinner is in March.
On Friday, Katie Kapoor, Stacey and Jenna Hampton and Kasey Lanham were at
the Tall Cedar's Youth Nite. The DeMolay came by, just to be there! The
girls presented the Old Rugged Cross Ceremony for the Tall Cedars. After the
ceremony, Dad Baker gave out certificates for helping the Tall Cedars with
their rose sale this past Labor Day, and a memorial ceremony was offered for
the two gentlemen of the group that had passed away.
ON TAP FOR THIS WEEK........
- This Saturday, from noon until 2 p.m. there is a mandatory ritual practice
for everyone. Please arrive at Mom Groner's house, ready to recite your
parts for Ritual Competition!
-
Here is a big change: Our meeting on February 3 is at 4 p.m. Normally,
our meetings are at 6. At the last council meeting, the council decided to
move the meeting up to as early as we could that day. There will be a
rehearsal for the Majority Ceremony at 3:30. Hopefully, you all have
received your parts in the mail by now and have already begun learning your
parts. Please have your parts memorized so that this ceremony will be
beautiful and lasting for Erin Langsdorf. THERE WILL BE NO REFRESHMENTS
AFTER THE MEETING.
UPCOMING EVENTS.....
February 9 - from 12 until 2 there is a pot luck lunch with the Vice Grand
Guardian for the Junior and Senior Princesses at the Arlington Masonic
Temple (where Bethel 1 meets.) Mom Melanie and Dad James will be attending.
Immediately following the lunch will be a GV planning meeting for the
princesses and Honored Queen. (GV is March 17 in Arlington)
SHAMELESS PLUGS:
-
Line Officers - - this term, you must come up with some fundraisers!!!!
Please bring your fundraising ideas to the February council meeting (date
forthcoming!) We need some ways to offset the costs of Session!
-
Session is fast approaching - as Mom Mona mentioned last meeting, if you all
wanted to do the Choir competition - you should. However, you need to bring
your song ideas to her! So, email some ideas to her - or tell her at the
meeting on Sunday.
-
If you have some great ideas for Dress Alike - please see Mom Melanie.
-
Do you sew? Paint? Sculpt? Write? Draw? If you answered yes to any of
these questions, you can enter several competitions at Session! Please see
Mom Melanie to find out what competitions there are - and what may best suit
you.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK.........
"I have uttered that which I know not and I repent in dust and ashes."
Have a wonderful week - - and go St. Louis Rams!
