David Baird Sr., was born on April 7, 1839. He was Camden County Sheriff, 1896 - 1896 and United States Senator from New Jersey 1918 - 1919. Father of Sen. David Baird, Jr. Appointed to fill the unexpired Senate term of William Hughes, who died in office.1896 to 1898 Camden County Sheriff. Lumber merchant with large holdings in Pennsylvania, New York, Michigan and the Southwest. Died February 25, 1927.
