Richard Howell, Revolutionary Patriot. Born in Newark, New Castle County, Del., October 23, 1754. One of the band of patriots who took part in the "Greenwich Tea Party" November 22, 1774 and burned a ship's cargo of tea. Major, 2nd Regt., 1st Establishment, New Jersey Continental Line, Revolutionary War, 1780. Governor of the State of New Jersey 1793-1801. Died in Trenton, Mercer County, N.J., April 28, 1802. Interment at Friends Burying Ground, Trenton, N.J. Lodge: Trenton 5
