Greetings my Brothers,

The conferring of the FC degree has been cancelled. We are looking towards January to confer

this degree

Woodlin Lodge #30 will be giving Christmas baskets again to our widows & orphans this year.

At this point in time we are discussing the various directions we will be taking regarding the Childrens’ Christmas Party. We are not sure if we will be receiving toys from Toys for Tots due to economy.

It has been suggested that we give $20.00 checks to each child as well as having a party for them

with snacks. Why checks? Giving gift cards creates a problem (no idea as to how many cards to purchase). We have a $500.00 donation (from RW James (Butter) Allen for the Christmas party plus monies from the Square Club.

There also was a suggestion that we forego the Christmas party and concentrate on Widows & orphans.

Whatever decision is made the Christmas baskets for Widows & orphans will be take be done.

A warm hearted thank you to RW John Prewitt for another donation of $200.00 for the repair of our lodge. RW Prewitt has given a total of $800.00 for the repairs of our lodge. Again, on behalf of the lodge, we truly thank you.

The Jewel Award Banquet will take place on Jan 28th 2011. As chairperson for this event I am requesting that you forward all ads by January 5th 2011. Ads are $40.00 full page ($45.00 with photo)

$25.00 ½ page and $15.00 ¼ page.

Ticket cost: $65.00

Khufu Temple #120 A.E.A.O.N.M.S. will be having a Wild- Wild West Cabaret Saturday January 8th 2011 @ the Pennington Road Fire House - 8PM until 1:00 AM – BYOB—Cost $25.00 p/p

As stated in my last trestle bd. the bar has been showing a nice profit; however changes for the bar are still in order. One specific problem I am addressing is the noise factor (from music). We do not want to offend our neighbors nor have a problem with the Bordentown Police Dept. Our music venue will be changed.

All rentals of the recreation room will be on Saturdays. RW Frank Herron is the bar & building manager and all rentals will go thru him.

My brothers, lodge dues are due as a matter of fact they are overdue. Show cause letters have been mailed.

Greetings my Brothers,
October 30th 2010 – Continental breakfast for our pioneer brothers (Senior Brothers) @ Woodlin Lodge #30.  9 to 11 AM.

Our Junior Warden, Ronald Sapp, will be conferring the EA degree at our November communication,
we have 9 candidates.
Brothers please keep in mind that Grand Lodge raffle receipts and/or tickets are due and should be given to our JW Ronald Sapp no later than Nov. 4th.  You still have time to sell the raffles. We are behind in our sales please sell those raffles.

We are planning to have a Brothers & Sisters day at Woodlin Lodge #30 on Saturday November 13th.
Free fish sandwich to all paid members of Princess Leah #23 & Woodlin Lodge #30. Come out & enjoy the company of others, play cards, dominoes, spades, pinochle etc…..  or just chat & chew.

There were two very informative seminars in October. One was for the Secretaries & Treasurers, the other for WMs, SWs & JWs.  The information one received at these seminars was vital to all who wish to hold elective offices. Those who have no interest in holding said offices would have gain information as to the intricacies involved in carrying out the duties of the offices as well as the conferring of the EA degree.  To My new brothers you will hear some more seasoned brothers saying
It is not necessary to attend these seminars, this is not true. You would be surprised at the number of brothers who have been doing things wrong as far as Secretaries & Treasurers, as well as floor work & dialog for degree work.  As your car needs a tune-up so do we as Masons as regards Masonic work.
These seminars are open to all Masons and The Grand Master encourages your attendance.

The dead bolt on the front door has been changed.  I am sorry to say that I had no choice in making
this change due to the fact that we have been keeping an accurate account of  the bar & have found that someone or ones have been availing themselves of free drinks. We cannot afford this nor do we intend to support someone’s drinking  habits.  We are on a tight budget and every penny counts. If need be I will have surveillance cameras installed.  I believe I made the statement earlier but I will repeat it. I have no problem in bringing civil action against anyone who steals from the lodge. I am not hear to win a popularity contest. I am hear to serve my lodge & see that it is run in an efficient manner.  My pillars & I have discussed this situation at length & we three did agree to change the lock.

The bar has been making a nice profit since we have made what we consider necessary changes.
We have included Princess Leah in this process. Every 3rd  Friday is Ladies night and we split the profits with Princess Leah. We will be working closely with Princess Leah this year on other affairs & events and I am quite sure this will relationship continue in future years.

My brothers, lodge dues are due as a matter of fact they are overdue. Show cause  letters  have been mailed.

Thank you, my brothers, for the phone calls & cards during my illness.

Greetings my Brothers,

First off may I take this moment to thank all the brothers who supported our cabaret on Sept. 11th 2010.

A special thank you to Princess Chapter Leah Chapter for their participation. They really made it a fun & successful evening.

We will be working closely with Princess Leah this year on other affairs & events and I am quite sure this

relationship will continue in future years.

My Pillars & I have devised a new method in running the bar and it is working. Please adhere to any new changes you may encounter. These changes are in effect to make the bar a profitable entity for the lodge. Please keep in mind no one is permitted behind the bar without the request of those who are working the bar. This includes myself because those who are working the bar are responsible for the

receipts of the bar.

Please consider the selection of two brothers from our lodge to receive the Jewel Award this year. The selection must be made at this upcoming communication October 5th 2010.

The EA Degree is scheduled to be conferred at our November communication, please govern yourself accordingly.

The Grand Lodge Raffle is not doing as well as expected. I know the economy is suffering, but please push those raffles. We benefit as a lodge as well as the Grand Lodge.

My brothers, lodge dues are due as a matter of fact they are overdue. Show cause letters have been mailed.

I will be holding a breakfast, as before, for our Senior Brothers on October 30th 9AM @ Woodlin

Finally, my brothers, our Senior Warden Anthony Hale will be opening and closing our October communication. This is due to the fact that I suffered a heart attack and had two stents implanted

last Wednesday due to a 90% blockage in two arteries, although I feel well my cardiologist insist that I

recuperate at least three weeks.

Sick & Distressed

RW Russell B. Jordan Sr. & his family re: the passing of his father, RW Russell Jordan

Greetings my brothers:

I trust everyone had an enjoyable summer.

I, for one, learned a great deal this summer which I will speak on at later date.

We encountered a break in the water service line in August . The matter caused us to have to close the the lodge for a few weeks.  Luckily we were on refreshment. In terms of the repair we were quoted a price of $250.00 for the repair, which we paid. We were told by the township to add a shut off box, we were then informed the total  repair  would be another $750.00 totaling  $1000.00. I learned a great deal from this incident.  In order to make this repair we had to use monies we had saved for the roof.  Rest assured the roof will be repaired.

RW E.G. Brown loaned the lodge the money to pay the insurance ($4100) at 6% interest  over  a twelve month period.  The condition regarding this loan is that it will not be amortized.  Meaning we have  a monthly note of $362.17. The bar along with the affairs held by the Square Club will have to generate the funds to cover this note.  We will be diligent in keeping track of every penny that is generated by these entities. Brothers we must support the Square Club programs and the bar to meet our obligations.

Rentals must be paid in a timely manner.  A tally sheet of all drinks in the bar will be established and only those brothers or sisters working the bar will be allowed behind the bar, because they will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of all drinks sold. As far as the sales of fish sandwiches, the number of fish per case will be counted therefore giving us an accurate account of all sales per case.

I say this once & mean it, if I am to be held responsible for this lodge, I have no problem bringing Masonic charges & civil charges against “anyone” who is found guilty of taking anything of monetary value from this lodge. There are Brothers in this lodge who have given so much of their monies & time to keep this lodge open. I will not allow “anyone” TO TAKE FROM THEM.

I am not here to run in a popularity contest. I am here to serve you, my brothers. I am quite sure there are some who have become upset in reading this; however, this means nothing to me. I am here to do what is best & most fair for the lodge and its membership.

I once said do not mistake kindness for weakness. Changes have been taking place in Woodlin & changes will continue until we are on a firm foundation and if more changes are needed they will be instituted.  I am only the beginning of this change my Pillars are on the same page.

You my brothers won lodge of the year for the Masonic 2008-2009 year.  We can do this again with some hard work & dedication.

I could become complacent and hold my monthly  meetings and let things remain status quo, but I don’t believe  this is why I was elected to this office. I believe we must continuously move forward. Doing nothing will give you nothing. I have found that in most cases those who criticize the most do the least.

Now that I have stated my feelings & what is to be, I will now proceed to give you pertinent information regarding our up coming meeting and important dates.

Foremost is the fact that dues are over due. Dues were due July 1, 2010. This is your lodge,  my brothers, please pay your dues to help keep our lodge open. We do have regular bills to pay monthly.

September 3rd Princess Leah will hold a chat & chew @ Woodlin starting @ 7PM. Some of us will get there late due to Consistory degree work and the fact that some of the brothers from Woodlin will be receiving degrees.

September 7th – Woodlin Regular communication. Voting will take place re: those who petitioned for membership

September 11, 2010 Woodlin's Square Club is having a cabaret at Foster Military Lodge. Come out & support your lodge. Affairs such as this will help to pay RW E.G. Brown the money he has loaned us.

September 12th is Prince Hall Day

September 17th District Meeting

Please keep in mind the Grand Lodge raffle is in full force. Here is another way we can acquire funds for the lodge. The more raffles you sell the more Woodlin will benefit.

Visit our website and please forward anything you feel will benefit the site to me or my Pillars. Our Webmaster,  JW Ronald Sapp,  is to be congratulated for the outstanding job he has done in developing this site.

Congratulations also to R.W. James “Butter” Allen who was elected to the position of GRAND SECRETARY.

Congratulations to RW E. G. Brown, who is now  Emeritus Medical Chair

Congratulations to our SW Anthony Hale who was promoted to Captain this summer in the Fire Dept..

Those who missed the PH family Relief Picnic , missed a real treat!

Another reminder -----Lodge dues are overdue--- I implore you to pay your dues

 Greetings my Brothers,

I trust everyone is being careful in all the high temperatures we have encountered. Please stay
hydrated and stay out of the sun as much as possible.

I am back as your Worshipful Master for a second term. To be honest, I was all set to come out of the
East. Being Worshipful Master is a rather tedious and all consuming job. I do have two fantastic
pillars in Senior Warden Hale & Junior Warden Sapp. I am also blessed to have intelligent &
hard working line officers. Serving the craft of Woodlin Lodge #30 is a tedious job, but it is also
a rewarding one. As Worshipful Master I and my officers are hear to serve you and do what is
best for the craft. We had a goal last year in renovating the Lodge room. Many sacrifices had to be
made to accomplish this goal, but you made those sacrifices in terms of financing &  labor. I only lay
plans on the trestle board & you, my brothers, implemented those plans and met with success. We now
a lodge room we can all be proud of. I thank each & every one of you.

This year we are going to concentrate on more family oriented programs, community programs
including the schools and also focus on charitable programs. Yes, we will be at labor again, but we
will also have fun. We will work hard and also play hard. This will be a year of bettering our position
in the community. Our Senior & Junior Wardens have some great ideas which we need your support
to implement. Through our Junior Warden we had a very successful Gospel Cruise. Those who did
not participate missed a fun filled day. The gospel cruise was & is just the beginning of what I see as
a year of brotherhood in its truest sense.

At our District meeting in June, I turned in our calendar for the year to our DDGM, Woodlin was the
the first lodge to do this You will also receive this calendar. We have included in the calendar three
church visitations, I trust you will join us in these visitations.

I am very excited about this coming year. July 3rd our Senior & Junior Wardens are sponsoring
a Family & Friends day at Woodlin. There will be activities for all. The children can enjoy
themselves in the Moon Bounce, face painting and free hot dogs, hamburgers, juice and
cotton candy.    Deserts will be sold as well as fish sandwiches. The bar will be open for the adults.

September 11th we will be hosting a cabaret at Foster Military Lodge. Tickets are a mere $15.00.
Every brother of Woodlin should be there as well as their guest. I am quite sure each brother
can sell at least 6 tickets to this affair. I will have 20 to 30 guests. Assume your responsibility to
Woodlin and make this affair a success. This affair could& should be a sellout.
“ We do have a roof to be repaired”                 .

I want to take this moment to sincerely thank you for your support during my past
                  administration.
“WE” (you & me) accomplished a great deal within the lodge.  You gave of your finances,
you gave of your time, you gave of your talents. Without the aforementioned we could not
have accomplished the goal I had set before you. Please give this administration your support .

In the very near future you will be presented with a program that can save you & the Lodge
money and create a residual income for the Lodge.

Congratulations to RW Pressley who has been called upon to pursue his destiny to become
                  a Deacon in his church.

I had the pleasure of attending all 5th district installations and I can proudly say not once
did I travel alone. Nor did I travel alone to the District Meeting.

There is so much more I could speak on but I will save the rest for Lodge meeting.

We will be marching on July 4th in Mill Creek Park, Willingboro with Foster Military Lodge #67.
I will be emailing you in reference to the time of the march

GOD Bless Woodlin Lodge & the craft.

                 Greetings my Brothers,

Please be advised that our June Communication will start at 7PM.  We have a number of
issues to be addressed and I don’t want the brothers out late.

This is the last trestle bd. you will receive from me. I hope that those in the past were informative
and hopefully kept you abreast as to what was happening at Woodlin, the fifth district & the
                 Grand East.

I want to take this moment to sincerely thank you for your support during my administration.
“WE” (you & me) accomplished a great deal within the lodge.  You gave of your finances,
you gave of your time, you gave of your talents. Without the aforementioned we could not
accomplished the goal I had set before you. There is more to be done. Please give your

same support to our new administration.

Our newly initiated brothers will show their proficiency at the beginning of our meeting.
RW Pressley did an excellent job as Dean of Instruction as well as Past Master George
McConnell, who put together the degree teams and worked with these teams to insure the
                  degrees were done correctly.

I will be visiting the B. Bernice Young Elementary School this June to give them a pizza party
in the name of Woodlin Lodge #30 F&AM  PHA. I had challenged them to read 50 books,
when Bro. Bacon & I read to them during read across America month. Their teacher kept

We are nearing our goal in raising the money necessary to repair our roof. All donations
                will be greatly appreciated

As a reminder lodge dues are due July 1st 2010. Please meet your responsibility &
obligation & pay your dues in a timely fashion.

It has been an honor & pleasure serving you as Worshipful Master and again I want to
thank those who supported me & made a major goal of mine to become a reality, namely
the renovations of the lodge room. I have been truly blessed by your support. We did it
without the use of lodge money.

  communication.

Registration fees for the Grand Session ($95.00) are now due
Lodge dues are due July 1st, 2010

The breakfast I sponsored on the 17th of April was a success. Our Pioneer brothers thoroughly
enjoyed themselves. Not to mention we were graced with the presence of our Grand Master
Most Worshipful Thomas R. Hughes, Sr.. It was a beautiful site to see these brothers
fellowshipping & reminiscing of old times & brothers, along with our Grand Master.

Those brothers who were able traverse the stairs were very impressed with our renovation
of the lodge room. I spoke of the repairs needed for the roof. Again I must thank
  RW John E. Prewitt.
I informed him that we had raised a little over $1200.00 for the roof repair, he again gave us
  a generous donation.
Brothers Pressley & Bacon were there to assist me. I had enough food to feed the entire lodge.
The breakfast menu was: eggs to your order, grits, bacon, pancakes, rolls, orange juice,
  decaffeinated and regular coffee.
It was the consensus of the brothers that they want to do this again on a bi-monthly basis

Our next major project is to completely repair the roof. We now have a little over $1400 for
this project. Cost of repair is approx. $2500.00, meaning we still must raise $1100.00.
We can do this through your donations. Remember this is your lodge. I thank all for the
donations they have made for this must needed project.

The back yard has been cleaned & mowed by our Junior Warden, R. Bacon.
