On July 29, 1909 the newly formed General Motors Corporation acquires the luxury automaker, the Cadillac Automobile Company, for 4.5 million dollars.
Cadillac was formed by Mason, Henry Ford. The Cadillac was named after French Explorer Antoine Laumet de La Mothe Cadillac. The Cadillac was priced for $850 at the New York Auto Show in 1910.
