Grand Assembly 2001
This year, Tracy Assembly was honored to be especially involved with our Grand Sessions in many ways. To see some of the fun we had, check out our Pictures page!
Devotional
Service
Our district, Manteca, Modesto, Patterson & Tracy Assemblies, was asked to
present the Devotional Service at this year's sessions. Devotional Service
is the worship service held on Sunday morning of Grand Assembly. We were
thrilled with this honor and hope that everyone enjoyed the service. We
had a lot of fun planning and implementing it.
Grand Officers
2000-2001 "Radiantly Rambunctious Raccoons"
We were so proud of Sharolyn B., Grand Executive Committee/Christian Flag
Bearer & Representative to Florida/Tennessee. She and Kelli L., Grand
Faith, from Manteca, looked so radiant in their iridescent green and sparkly
dresses! Sharolyn did a marvelous job in presenting the Christian Flag
Tribute and reporting on Florida & Tennessee Rainbow to California. Kelli's
initiatory work was absolutely beautiful. We were so honored to have
them representing us during the 2001 Sessions.
Grand Officers
2001-2002 "Kinetic Energetic Koalas"
Wow!!!! District 23 knew, as soon as Mrs. Martin read the first
Revelation, that the new Grand Year was going to be fantastic.
That's because our very own Mr. Bob Miller, the husband of our Grand Deputy, was
appointed to serve as California's State Rainbow Dad! He is a great Mason
to have been given this most wonderful honor and we are proud to call him our
own. Then, we settled in, waiting with anticipation and excitement, to see
if anyone we knew would be appointed to be a Grand Officer. Tracy Assembly
was thrilled to hear our own Caroline R.'s name called as the next Grand
Representative to Montana/North Dakota. The night, however, was not
done. Soon, we heard Allison M., from Modesto, appointed Grand Executive
Committee & Historian. But, the biggest surprise came when our very
own Sharolyn B. took to the center of the floor to hear the name of her new
Grandie. Standing up, we couldn't stop screaming and crying when Manteca's
Natalie H. was announced as the new Grand Executive Committee & Christian
Flag Bearer. All in all, it was a very happy evening and we are proud of
every one of District 23's Kinetic Energetic Koalas of 2002!
Grand Pages
We were very
happy to see Meredith P. on the Grand Floor representing Tracy Assembly as
an "Unidentified Floating Object", aka Grand Page at Large, with her
special assignment being to assist our Area Grand Deputy, Miss Rita.
Meredith looked beautiful in her white, sparkling dress. Meredith's
basket, a red plastic grocery basket lined with burlap on the inside and covered
with plastic fruit & vegetables on the outside, won 3rd place for Most
Original. Meredith, you did us proud!
Grand Choir
This year Christina A. sang her heart out in Grand Choir, representing our
assembly. The Melodious Martians were magnificent in light blue dresses,
with sparkling chiffon ruffles on the skirt and sleeves. The entire Grand
Choir were fantastic to hear, singing beautifully, *and* loudly!
Talent
Competition
We had a great time getting the audience to clap along with our talent entry,
Ashley Y., who danced, in point, to a beautiful ballad. She had a lot of
tough competition in her category, precision solo dance, and we were thrilled
when she won 3rd place! We came back from Grand Assembly with lots of
ideas for Talent Competition next year, so look for us!
Ritual
Competition
Tracy Assembly was extremely honored to have two representatives from our Area
at the Grand Assembly Ritual Competition. The Lecture this year, for all
participants, was the Fidelity Lecture, and PWAs also had to recite the Flag
Lecture from Installation. Christina A., an alternate two years ago for the Nature lecture,
was the Area representative in her age group. She did a great job in what
we know was an extremely tough category. Cindy F., last
year's alternate for the Immortality lecture and WA's Altar lecture, was the
Area representative in her category. She did a marvelous job, and no
one could contain their excitement as she left for the awards announcement,
knowing she had placed, but not knowing until the ritualists were out on the
floor that she had earned 3rd place!
We are so proud of both of these girls for setting such a great example of outstanding ritual work for everyone in our assembly and district. They, along with the two Area representatives from Manteca, helped show California Rainbow just how great District 23 is!
