On January 2 we were asked to help serve at the Master's Dinner, which was followed by the Installation of Stan Robinson as the new Master of the Lodge. There were about 100 who attended this Dinner, and the food was wonderful. Our young ladies did an outstanding job in helping to serve this meal, which as reported by Rick Ballinger took only 18 minutes to get everyone served.
On January 3 we attended the Installation of the new Master Councilor of Cherokee DeMolay, Eric Feldpausch. The State Officers did a great job, and we were most impressed with our DeMolay.
On January 10 the Suburban Social Club hosted a Youth Party for the Rainbow, DeMolay, and Pledge members who helped last year at the Fish Fry. The Social Club had turned this over to Paula Wells for arranging the dinner, and for buying the presents. Paula always has great food served for this dinner, as well as great presents (gift certificates to Wal-Mart, Target, Tumbleweed, Logan's Road House, O'Charlie's, McDonalds, etc., and coupons to movie theaters), a drawing is held for a new TV, and this year everyone had to guess the number of Black & White M&M's in the jar, which turned out to be "740" M&M's in the jar - wouldn't you think everyone should have thought of this number. It is always a lot of fun, and our girls appreciate the attention.
On Friday night, January 23, we held a sleepover and invited the Pledge Class to come and bring some of the games they received for Christmas so we could all have some fun together.
Lorraine's Installation will be held on Sunday, January 25, at 2:30 p.m., and Lisa Sutton will be installed as Worthy Advisor. We invite all the Masons to come be a sideliner on the 2nd and 4th Mondays at 7:30 p.m. and enjoy meeting our young ladies. We promise you that there are very few dull moments.
Lorraine's girls are presently planning to take the Pledge Class to the the Kosair Circus on Saturday, February 7, at the 10:00 a.m. show. This should be a great time, what with seeing all the Kosair clowns, all the circus animals, the acts, and eating all the cotton candy, popcorn, hotdogs, etc.
As a last note, we would ask that you save the aluminum rings from soft drink cans and give them to Aunt Rose, as we are saving them for the Ronald McDonald House, and this helps with expenses for families who need to stay there while their children are being treated in hospital stays at Kosair Hospital.
