Battle of Logan's Cross Roads, sometimes known as the Battle of Fishing Creek was, fought on January 19, 1862 in the area located 5 miles west of Somerset, Kentucky. The battle was the site of the death of General Felix Kirk Zollicoffer, which is now a National Historical Site. Sievers Lodge is located in the near center of the area and had early members possibly witnessed the events of that day and may have been particiapts in the battle itself.

Sievers Lodge was formally chartered on 19 October, 1870 according to the Book of Constitutions, Grand Lodge of Kentucky of Free and Accepted Masons, 1976, page 236-269. "Sievers was organziaed under dispenstaion begin in July 13, 1970. The first known meeting was at Mt. Pisgah Church several miles west of the Battle of Logan's Cross in a community of Faubush, Kentucky. The ldoge was originally located "between the churches" just west of the intersection of KY Hwy 196 and KY Hwy 3262. The two churches were Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and the Nazarene Church and are just west of the intersection. In the open space between the two churchs was the original location. The Lodge met over the original Mt. Pisgah Meeting House".(Coates-Freemasonry-Pulaski Co KY (1926-2008). The lodge was convened on the second floor of the meeting house and remained there till 1949 moving to the current lodge building located over Nancy Supply, next to Nancy Funeral Home on West Highway KY 80 in the community of Nancy, Kentucky. The first meeting of Sievers Lodge was held on the 13th day of August 1870. According to early lodge records, the following men were installed as the first officers of the lodge:

During this meeting the first set of by-laws were adopted by the lodge, according to lodge records these bylaws were copied from Somerset Lodge #111.The gray stone of the current lodge was gathered from the battlefield and surrounding stone fences. Siever's Lodge was orginally a wood structure, until the stones were placed in 1890 and the current building known today was constructed. Siever's Lodge is presumably named for it's first Secretary, C.J. Sievers. most likely is Christian J.Sievers (Sevies from Pulaski County Historical Society publication) in the 1870 cenus was age 35, born Prussia.

  History of Nancy, Kentucky

The City of Nancy Kentucky is located in Pulaski County approximatly five miles west of Somerset on Kentucky Highway 80.The area was originally known as Logans Crossroads in the early nineteenth century.

The Lincolnville post office opened in 1865, with William Harrison Logan postmaster, and closed in 1875. Logan was married to Nancy W. Lester (Sally) on 23 September 1851. According to local accounts, mail stations in Bowling Green, Kentucky had began marking the mail for the area as "Send it to Nancy". as Nancy assisted William in mail services. The Nancy post office opened in 1884, The town was named for Logan's wife, replacing the name of Logans' Crossroads after the Civil War..
