1. Attached is the Shrine Circus Parade Assembly Area information with
your assigned parade position. Know your number and display the card
to the lower part of the windshield or Marching Unit Leader carry in
packet. Dress will be in keeping with the weather and discretion of
the person in charge. Upon placing your unit in the assembly area, we
ask that you stay with the unit or leave the keys with a responsible
adult, so that if it has to be moved, it can be.
2. The assembly areas are between 17th & 20th Streets on West Main
and St. Mary's School Yard and Parking lots. All units MUST enter from
North or South 20th Street into West Main. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.
3. NO PARKING for personal cars is available at the assembly areas.
Please DO NOT park on Fischer's Restaurant. Lot is reserved for their
patrons only!
4. ROUTE OF PARADE: East on West Main from 17th Street thru downtown
Belleville. Disbanding instructions covered on the attached map.
5. ALL MOVEMENTS IN THE PARADE MUST BE FORWARD. NO REAR-MARCH OR DELAYING
MOVEMENTS WILL BE TOLERATED. THE PARADE LINE MUST BE KEPT CLOSED-UP
A MAXIMUM OF 50 FEET AND A MINIMUM OF 30 FEET BETWEEN UNITS. LAGGERS
WILL BE TURNED OUT OF THE PARADE.
6. When passing the reviewing stand, at East Main & Church Streets,
members of marching units will give "eyes-right".
7. All persons riding in convertibles will ride in the seat, NOT on
the top of the back seat.
8. DO NOT THROW CANDY. GOODIES, etc, to parade watchers. Shrine Law
forbids this. Give hand-outs to the AINAD KRAZY KLOWNS walking on the
street. Do not be the cause of a child's injury.
9. Policing will be by the Belleville Police Dept., Belleville Auxiliary
Police. Ainad's Provost Guard and Ainad's Directors Staff.
10. Parade Marshals, in Red Shirts, will assist in the parade line-up.
BY NO MEANS CHANGE YOUR ASSIGNED POSITION as this disrupts the continuity
at the reviewing stand.
11. Because of the large number of spectators, good conduct must be
displayed throughout the parade, there will be NO SMOKING, DRINKING,
OR BOTTLES AND CANS carried during the parade. A violation will result
in your NOT being asked to participate next year.
12. The Belleville Police Dept. forbids the use of BLAST HORNS or SIRENS
as they conflict with emergency equipment, in addition, it drowns out
the musical units.
