We continue to have modest growth in our membership—a rarity among the many lodges in the state. Our officers and other members have been active in conferring degrees and attending “Saturday Morning” practice to become proficient in the various chairs and degree work. If you would like to see great degree work, you only need to visit your lodge. Lodge Secretary Barry Carney keeps members informed of degree work through the Internet. Please let him know if you would like to be added to his email list.
At our April 28 stated meeting, we will be participating in The Eureka Challenge, which consists of correctly matching 33 questions with 33 answers within a 33-minute period. This is a new event sponsored by the Grand Lodge to increase our Masonic knowledge. Please join us in this special event and help us to match those questions and answers. And, as noted elsewhere in this newsletter, we would like you to attend the Family Night dinner on April 5. This event is being arranged by Junior Warden Jeff Estes.
Finally, we have established a building endowment fund to enable future generations of Normal Lodge to be able to support financially their building. Right Worshipful Ron Blue spearheaded this effort. We continue to plan for the future and invite your participation in this exciting journey.
As you can note, exciting things are happening at Normal Lodge. I extend a special invitation to each of you to return to your lodge in the near future and continue to help us grow and become a more outstanding citizen in our community. This renewed commitment by the officers and members of Normal Lodge to become a larger partner in addressing community-related concerns needs your involvement to accelerate its momentum and to succeed. You are encouraged to let us know as to how we can become better citizens in our community and how you can assist the Lodge to expound the virtues of being a Mason. I believe that you will find your increased involvement personally enriching. You can become an important brother in the exciting future of Normal Lodge by helping in enriching its heritage as a benevolent institution. |
Please join us for dinner at the first stated meeting (2nd Monday) of every month and meet your lodge officers and friends. If you know that you will be attending, let us know so that our Junior Warden can plan sufficient meals. In any event, renew your friendship at a stated meeting (2nd and 4th Monday) and witness the changes that are happening in your lodge. Lastly, let me know how we can serve your Masonic needs better.
