From the East... |
A Mason’s journey begins with a petition. Once he has been accepted, his journey should move ever toward the East. I didn’t know if I would ever sit as Master of a Lodge, and it is an awesome responsibility in itself. My duties toward the Lodge are to see that its needs come first. My responsibilities toward you, my Officers and Brothers, are to see that I am ever diligent in careful leadership and subduing my own passions. Our goals for 2003 include continuing our outreach to the community around us, nurturing our new brethren in their Masonic journeys, and returning our missing brethren to our fellowship. No one person runs an entire organization by himself. The recent Past Masters of Mt. Zion #316 have taught that lesson well, and I will avail myself to you as best as is humanly possible.
