The Flag Pole raising at New City Library was attended by a number of Brethren of the Lodge. Once the Flag Pole was raised and secured in position, Brethren of the Lodge raised "Old Glory". The ceremonial flag, which had been flown over the United States Capitol on January 15th, 2008 , our 140th Anniversary date, was lowered, put into a glass display case and presented to the City Library. The flag, U.S. Capitol Certificate and acknowledgement of our donation is on display just inside Libraries main entrance doors. |

A SPECIAL LADY Since 1922 the Dunstan family have been a part of the foundation of Leesburg Lodge. Mrs. Jeanette Dunstan has for years decorated the dining room for each Sunday Dinner and could be found cheerfully greeting our members and guests when they arrived. Mrs. Dunstan has moved away and will surely missed.

DANIEL CARTER BEARD AWARD
The Daniel Carter Beard Masonic Scouter Award is an honor due to members of the Masonic Lodge who act as role models and provide dedicated service to the young men in the Boy Scouts of America
Congratulations to Brother Robert “Dean” Sever, Leesburg Lodge No. 58, 2010 Secretary, who was awarded this honor on March 16th, 2010 by M.:W.: Dale I. Goehrig, Grand Master of Masons of Florida. District Scouting Commissioner and Brother, Sandy Mackenzie was present to assist with the presentation as was W.: Grand Marshal Steven Boring, Grand Lodge of Florida.
The Daniel Carter Beard Masonic Award not only supports the Masonic relationship through the man who brought Scouting to America, but proclaims the integrity of the recipient who is honored by receiving the award. The Daniel Carter Beard Masonic Scouter Award is a Boy Scout Community Organization Award, used by community organizations to honor their volunteers for Scouting.
Recipients are presented a medallion on a neck ribbon and may wear the generic Boy Scout Community Organization Award Square Knot.
The award is presented to a Master Mason who is currently a registered Scouter and active in a Scout unit, district, council, or national affiliate, and has displayed outstanding dedication to the Scouting program.
Work accomplishment and dedication, rather than a specific number of years in Scouting, is the criteria for this award. To receive this award the recipient must be nominated by a Master Mason and approved by the Grand Master of Masons of Florida. During his presentation M.:W.: Dale I. Goehrig stated, this is the only Daniel Carter Beard Award he has presented thus far while serving as Grand Master of Florida.
The award was presented prior to Leesburg Lodge opening a Stated Communications Meeting to allow Boy’s Scouts, their families and friends to attend this special presentation. A number of Masons wives also attended this special presentation.
Leesburg Lodge sponsored Troop No.1 opened the evening by presenting the Flag of our Country West of the Altar, leading the Pledge of Allegiance and Posting the Colors in it’s place of Honor in the East.
