"All that remains to us of ceremonial in the West is in the hands of the Church, the Masons, and the producers of cabaret. All three are effectual after their kind: the Church evoking love of God; Masonry evoking love of man; and cabaret evoking love of women.

Taking this as a fact, as there is no reason under the light of intuition or intelligence to deny it, is not casualty that one of the main elements in this grade is the love to humanity, and that the sign of order belongs to the place of the heart's Chakra, who according to Arthur Powell in "The Etheric Double and Allied Phenomena", is the one whose awakenings grants the power to understand and sympathize intuitively with other astral entities feelings, and make the person realize in physical conscience, about the happiness and sorrows of his fellowmen.

It is possible to guess that the salary augmentation implies the giving of the tools needed to accomplish this empathy, and the materialization of this love, understanding that as an aim, and as an instrument.

In the first degree the initiated belongs to the B pillar, the passive o feminine side, where he takes care of the stonework, meaning that the first labor is oriented to his interior. In the second degree, he migrates to pillar J, or active side, taking care of the outside, the outer world, the service to others, and the duty of GIVE. Give what he confirmed he had learned and assimilated in terms of science and virtue.

It is a medium, as long as it represents a chance to get the ability to transit across the "Paths" of the "Tree of Life", and make contact with each "Sphere", by means of the potentiality to comprehend and sympathize, being comprehended and sympathized by the gods or levels that constitutes each one of this Sephirah.
