The United Great Priory in New Zealand |
Kaitaia Preceptory No. 17 |
Coat of Arms |
The shield is divided into two colours; green representing the land and blue for the sea. The gold chevron represents the sand of Ninety Mile Beach and Great Exhibition Bay. The lighthouse represents Cape Reinga; the heraldic dolphin symbolizes the sea. Kaitaia was one of the first established mission stations in the north, thus reference to the church. The crest is the kauri tree. The motto means “Faith by Land and Sea.” |
It has only been recently
that the Preceptory finalised a design for a Coat of Arms and had a banner
produced in consultation with V.Em.Kt. Peter Shapcott, the design
incorporating reference to the far North of New Zealand. |
