| Albert P. Smith was
born and raised on a farm near Hillsboro, ND. He served two years in the
US Armed Forces, World War II. On January 7, 1947 he moved to Fargo, ND
where he still resides. Al Smith was raised a Master Mason December 1, 1961 in Shiloh Lodge #1 where he is a Life Member and a Hon. Past Master of Shiloh Lodge #1 on February 13, 1998. Al became a Charter Member of Fargo Daylight Lodge #135 in 1991. He was installed as Worshipful Master Fargo Daylight Lodge on January 6, 1997 and presently serves as Treasurer of the Lodge. Al is a Life Member, of the Scottish Rite, where he received degrees 4 threw 32, Feb. threw May 1962. On February 6, 1988, Al was invested with the rank and decoration Knight Commander of the Court of Honor, (KCCH). On December 11, 1993 he was Coroneted with the 33° (Honorary) and final degree. A Life Member of the York Rite; Elected 9-24-1991. Al is a Life Member of El Zagal Shrine since November 1996. A Charter Member of the Mobile Nobles Of El Zagal on March 11, 1963. Life member of the Scottish Rite Research Society, Washington, DC. Member of the Red River Council 193, Allied Masonic Degrees. Life Member International Peace Garden Lodge Of Freemasons, August 7, 1993. Has served on Scottish Rite Holding Company Board of Trustees for many years and was elected President of the Board on 2-7, 1996. He has served on the Scottish RiteCare Center Board of Trustees since 1992.
