Billie Mosse Lodge Special Events

Past Masters Night 2009

A special event was held at the Billie Mosse Masonic Lodge #1152 this past Friday evening, September 25, honoring all Past Masters. A superb dinner was prepared by Bro. Bob Corwin and his wife Maria, a delightful meal of salmon patties, potatoes, beans, cornbread and coleslaw. There were many delectable desserts also. Several Past Masters and their wives were in attendance, as well as many members of the fraternity and their families.

Once all the honored guests had arrived, they were gathered into the lodge room for a group picture. They were then escorted into the dining area, were they were fed and had good fellowship with everyone.

The current Master, Bro. Arnold Ramey, invited the evenings guest speaker, Bro. Rusty Denny, to the podium for a very inspiring speech, which was enjoyed by all. Bro. Denny touched on what it means to be a true Past Master of a lodge, acknowledging the wisdom, leadership and restraint required of one to hold such an esteemed position. He closed with a heartfelt benediction and thanked all who were in attendance.

Billie Mosse Lodge holds annual BBQ

Billie Mosse Lodge #1152, A.F.&A.M., held it’s annual BBQ dinner fundraiser Saturday afternoon, May 1, 2010. The weather held out to make a near picture perfect time for the event, as people turned out in droves to get a taste of the Mason’s fine fare. Many were overheard to say that this years’ BBQ was some of the best they had ever had, and they looked forward to attending every year.

Live music was provided by the Masons as well, and the backdrop of large oak trees made for a natural amphitheater as the sweet sounds of country and western swing style music fell on the listeners ears.

Arnold Ramey, Worshipful Master of the lodge, said that the final count for the annual fundraiser wasn’t in yet, but that he expected this years BBQ would do as well or better than last year, given that the weather was so nice and allowed so many to come out for food, music, and fellowship.

He was also quick to thank the many brothers, their wives, and others who were involved in putting this year’s event together. Their sacrifices of time and effort put forth to make this years’ BBQ a success has been noticed by all and very much appreciated.

He also gave a big thank you to the public, who came out and supported the fraternity by being a part of this years BBQ. The funds raised through this and other events throughout the year will be put to use for the many charities it supports as well as the annual scholarships the lodge provides to graduating seniors from Denison High School.
