Brethren,

It is hard to believe that my year as Worshipful Master of Beverly-Riverside Lodge is coming to an end. As I look back I think of all the great memories I have made, all the new friends I have made along my travels, and all the hard work all of us have put into our Lodge.

Last month we hosted an Oktoberfest with the Eastern Star. A good time was had by all. The food was AWESOME. The German music was GREAT. The sociability was out of the world. Something we all have to remember is, when we have an event like this, we need all the help we can get. It takes many hours before and after to pull something like this off. Three or four members cannot do all the work. I personally would like to thank Matt Korang for all his hard work. He was the mastermind behind this event. Great sauerkraut, Matt. Also, I would like to thank Marie Scott for making the German potato salad and the mashed potatoes. As usual Marie, everything was GREAT. People are still talking about the potato salad. We are going to host another Oktoberfest again next year. Plan on coming - you’ll have a great time.

The big event in October was the Reception for Beverly-Riverside Lodges two Grand Officers. It is great to see our Lodge so full. I was just a little nervous, but we all made it through. Everyone did a great job. Thank you to everyone for all your help.

Our Past Masters Night went very well. We had approximately 15 Past Masters present. We had a dinner preceding our meeting. It was really a great night. I feel this was my best night in the East. I felt so relaxed. It was terrific to have so many Past Masters present. You are the back bone of our Lodge. Come out often. Our most excellent meal was provided by Bro. Lou Christou. Thanks for all you do Lou!

Congratulations to our new Master Masons. It is hard to believe that you have completed your degrees but most of you have already completed your MM Exams. I thank you for your hard work. Special thanks to Marcus Carroll for all his time and dedication.

All Officers: Don’t forget the DLI on November 2, 2004 at Covenant Lodge and the GLI on November 3, 2004. At the DLI our Lodge will be doing the first section of the EA Degree and at the GLI we will be doing the same work. These two dates are a must for all officers. Dress for both nights is business attire. It is very important that everyone make these two dates. All the officers have been working very hard preparing for the GLI. Make Beverly-Riverside Lodge proud!!

On December 1, 2004, Riverside Chapter – OES is having their Master Mason Night.

Beverly-Riverside Lodge in invited to attend an evening with the ladies. I hope you’ll come out and support them. Together we can make something great even better.

I would like to wish all our members and their families a Happy Thanksgiving. Be safe and enjoy!!

William D. Ewan
