Knights of the Rose Croix
The
Degree of the Rose Croix teaches three things , the love and tenderness
of a beneficient God, the immortality of the soul, and the extinction of
evil, wrong and sorrow. Instead of the old pillars of wisdom, strength
and beauty, we now have those of faith, hope, and charity.
Extinguishing and Relighting
the Symbolic Lights
The Extinguishing and
Relighting the Symbolic Lights, ceremonies in connection with the Rose
Croix Chapter of Scottish Rite Bodies, are observed by Scottish Rite Masons

The extinguishing
of the Lights is commemorative of Jesus' Last Supper and occurs on Maundy
Thursday evening, the Thursday immediatly preceding Easter Sunday. This
ceremony, obligatory to Scottish Rite Masons, is also open to family and
friends.
After the Extiguishing
of the Lights, symbolically the Temple remains in darkness until the relighting
of the Lights on Easter Day.
