To the Worshipful Master, Wardens, Officers and Brothers
Greetings:
I hope you have been enjoying the beautiful summer we are now having and have been able to relax and have some fun. It is almost time for events to gear up again and I wanted to update all of you on what I have so far.
Grand Lodges/Officers Schools:
1) Monday, October 20th at 7 PM. Belvidere Lodge # 60 will be hosting the
first of the three Grand Lodge sponsored schools. This one will be like our
regular standard schools from last year; Open 1,2,3 receive the DDGM
and close on the 3rd, short form.
2) Saturday, November 1st at 8AM. Rockford Lodge #102 will host the
Grand Lecturer's Demonstration School. It will be 2nd section of the
3rd Degree.
3) Monday, February 9th at 7 PM, Byron Lodge will be hosting the Lodge Officer's School that will put on the 1st section of the 1st Degree.
3rd Northern, Saturday Practice Schools:
These will commence on Saturday, September 20th at 9AM. They will
Again be held at E.F.W. Ellis Lodge #633 in Rockford. We will be
focusing primarily on actual degree work.
Grand Lodge: Will be held on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 10th and 11th in Springfield.
Each lodge should have received the information packets for anyone
who will be attending.
Congratulations to Durand Lodge for winning the District "Eureka Challenge" and also to Star in the East for Qualifying for the Grand Master's Award of excellence. Both of these Lodges and their officers will be recognized at Grand Lodge. I hope we can get more to participate in the future!
I will be having an Officer's Meeting on Saturday, October 18th at 9AM at Star in the East Lodge. I want to go over the things from Grand Lodge and discuss your suggestions for the district and the things we can do to strengthen and support your lodges. I will be asking for suggestions ahead of time to get them organized for the meeting. I am expecting the Primary Officers, (WM, SW, JW & Sect.) to attend, but all the officers will be welcome to attend and contribute their ideas.
As always I am available to all brothers in the district and look forward to and appreciate your past and future support.
