The new season is well under way, and at 117's September meeting (a Passing) there was an excellent attendance. This was in no small part due to a special presentation made to Tyler Bro. David Trumper by the Shrewsbury Freemasons' Hall Company in recognition of his recently produced history of the Company from its inception to the present year. David's work as a local historian and author is well known, and this latest publication is clearly well up there with his other work - and packed with well-known names!
Sad news, however, accompanied the good, and the death of W. Bro. Norman Cave was noted by the Worshipful Master, as well as that of W. Bro. Ray Key (who though not a member of this Lodge was often seen in the Organist's seat as a guest organist until recently). A very moving tribute to W.Bro. Cave was delivered by W. Bro. John Cayton.
